Evil’s piercing glare made his black-horned minions cower in fear.
Evil settled back on his throne, the goblet dangling in his clawed grasp.
“Like I said, we now have no need to roam that wretched planet and spread devastation, the pitiful humans are taking care of that quite splendidly.”
He paused and licked his thick lips.
“Now, all we need to do is wait to welcome them. Especially all those politicians and leaders who so graciously did my work for me,” his lips curled into a smirk.
Some of his awaited guests may live till they’re ninety something years old, an incredibly short life span to an immortal creature like him.
Ah yes, it would indeed be entertaining to witness the horror on the faces of those hypocritical humans who thought they were immune from accountability. Those who so carelessly played with human lives in the name of justice and freedom, those who had the power to stop the bloodshed, but didn’t, those who so arrogantly claimed to be guardians of the moral compass. How ironic that they’d be burning in the same fire, alongside the ones they branded barbaric.
The other person in society has as much value as I do.

Poerful story S. And the Ali quote was so fitting. You reap as you sow, an eternity of damnation for those you judged harshly comes back 10 fold in your winter of discontent. Loved this piece so much!

I like that. To burn with those they call barbaric. They are definitely going to suffer in the next world if there is one.
Sometimes the blatant injustice in this world just gets to you but the hope of accountability of those who get away scot-free is satisfying..all the while restraining us from stooping to their level!
An interesting theme, my Uncle says, pauper and prince, both end up dead. This is very obvious in old grave yards when you see ornate head stones next to old wooden head stones or crosses. Great use of the prompt.
