Daily Prompt: Argument (poem)

Your tongue let loose
Bitter words, abuse

Wounding, scarring
Brutally devouring

Egos clashing
Both sides lashing

But sometimes silence
Is your best guidance

Inspired by the quotes of Imam Ali (a.s):
Tongue is a beast, if it is let loose, it devours.”
“Surely silence can sometimes be the most eloquent reply.”

I love how the dialogue suggests an argument is ensuing, w/o it having to be said. Well done.

  2. The poem is good and also the quote by Imam Ali. Bravo! I treated the prompt from the angle of argument in marriage: https://yoursuccessinspirer.com/2016/10/08/argument-in-marriage/

  3. Delyn Merce says:

Very well done…silence can be golden (unless it’s used to build a brick wall).

  4. Davy D says:

A good poem. Silence is golden, as they say.

  5. magarisa says:

Brilliant! Great rhythm and rhyme, and the quote at the end is a perfect fit.
