When Mummy said she was going to get a baby sister, Susan started feeling jealous seeing all the presents her yet to be born sister was already receiving.
Grandma had just taught her how to knit, so she chose the colour that she hated, dark orange, and made an oddly shaped cap, which she said was her gift to little Betsy, with the intention of making her new sister look very ugly.
When Mummy came home from the hospital, she made Susan sit cross-legged on the bed and gently placed a soft little bundle in her arms and when Susan looked down at the tiny face staring up at her, she suddenly felt like a protective older sister and the first thing she did was quietly throw that cap into the dustbin.
For Three Line Tales
oh what a sweet story S! i can picture her holding that little bundle and planing all sorts with her new sister, pity the little cap got binned though, but now she can knit i am sure she will make another.
Haha! Yes! She’ll make one with her favourite colour next time! Thanks for reading! ☺
