Song Lyric Sunday: Yahaan (This Place)

The first two songs to pop into my mind were “If You’re Going to San Francisco” and “It Never Rains in Southern California” …! 🙂 But decided to go with this beautiful song celebrating the most spectacular region of Pakistan, called Gilgit Baltistan. A must visit for all those who love mountains, lakes, forts etc!

Singer: Shafqat Amanat Ali
Lyrics: themuzicworld.com

This idyll you will not find anywhere
If you want to see a piece of heaven on earth
Heavens open their doors right here
Come – Experience this place
Nature’s wonders dwell in this place

Chorus (x2)
He who comes here once
Leaves his heart behind
And never wants to leave this place

The fairy princess of flowers
Smiles upon this place
The seductive turnings of Spring
You will (also) find in this place
Come , and meet everyone who lives in this place
Every season in nature (too) lives in this place

Chorus (x2)

And what shall we say about the night
Stepping on a sheet of stars,
Wearing a veil of clouds.
We can disappear in the valleys
Let’s walk away and keep on walking
To wherever these paths lead us

Chorus (x2)

As beautiful as the valleys
Is every heart beating here
Beautiful hearts, beautiful faces
You will not find (this) anywhere else
Beautiful faces, beautiful sights
(And) the soothing beauty of their sounds

Chorus (x2)

Definitely an interesting song and composition. Obviously I don’t speak the native language so thanks for providing the English translation. Definitely looks like a place to visit (as a nature lover myself).

Thank you so much for listening to it! I’m glad the English translation was easily available! 🙂 It’s great for nature lovers! Brandon Stanton (from Humans of NY) did a couple of nice stories when he visited this region! 🙂
