Music Mondays-I Won’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me – Nick Kershaw (1984)

Music Mondays by Kat

I’m a fan of the oldies and the wordings of this song by Nick Kershaw are (unfortunately) apt, even for today. As this excerpt from Wikipedia says:

The song was written during the latter part of the Cold War ….. and the lyrics reflect a satirical view of politics and the threat of war with lines such as: “old men in stripey trousers, rule the world with plastic smiles”……

(Oh, and that was the lead singer from Duran Duran (the hair! the hair!) announcing him on stage!!)
