My first ever entry into this week’s Mondays finish the story! 🙂
Not knowing what to expect, he made his way into the dark of the forest. The danger palpable, he forced himself to keep walking. He was villager No. 47 to willingly walk this path. What other choice did he have? He had watched helplessly as his ten year old had started withering in front of him.
The cure was in the forest. Desperate to save their children, other fathers too had walked down the similar path.
Terrified little Betsy watched from her weeping mother’s lap, surrounded by the whispers of the entire village that had come to watch and hope for a miracle. Hope that was fading fast, with each parent disappearing into the forest, never to return.
“Come back daddy! Come back!” Betsy jumped up with all her weak might and scrambled towards him.
Tommy and Ben’s father hadn’t returned. She didn’t want the cure, she didn’t care, she just wanted her daddy back.
I somehow seem to have missed this one! Anyway, I really enjoyed reading this one and think you did a very good job defining characters and their motivations. Hopefully this will be your first of many entries 🙂
Thank you so much! You’ve done a great job with all your writings! Really enjoy reading them. Thanks once again for the motivation! I really needed it! 🙂
It just takes a while to get into writing the kind of fiction. Some things I have done work better than others. You really got the characters and sorted out their motivation which is something that I think is often lacking in my stories. So, definitely well done on that score 🙂
Your encouragement really means a lot! Here’s to all writers everywhere! May we only get better with time! 🙂
May we indeed! I enjoyed reading your first story for the MFtS challenge, and glad that you found the site. Thank you for participating in the Mondays Finish the Story challenge. I appreciate your contribution. Be well… ^..^
Really glad I found this site too! Thank you so much! 🙂
YW! I hope to see you back soon!
